WAHA adapts the proportion sample-size calculation from OpenEpi SSPropor.js. Statistics: Kevin M. Sullivan, based on code from John C. Pezzullo. Original interface: Andrew G. Dean and Roger A. Mir. Upstream: https://github.com/HIT-Tools/openepi/blob/ae2f4c1db17f98fb7231bd08c1d2f4e6d948b518/SampleSize/SSPropor.js Source blob: f9c6f9ea62eb02e548465ed3aa98a3541b10fdbb License: MIT; see LICENSE.txt alongside this notice. Changes in WAHA: TypeScript validation, stable equivalent finite-population formula, fixed high-precision two-sided normal critical values for 90/95/99%, design effect fixed to one (simple random sampling), explicit unknown population, conservative upward rounding, response-rate planning, Arabic/English interface and a reproducible methodology note. The legacy interface, approximate inverse normal routine, global variables and tracking scripts are not included. This implementation estimates one population proportion using a normal approximation. It does not calculate power for between-group comparisons, cluster sampling, continuous means, or qualitative saturation. Verification of the calculation does not establish that its assumptions fit a particular study. Separate WAHA modules independently implement hypothesis approximations and the Green heuristic. They are not OpenEpi code and are not exact power analyses. Krejcie & Morgan table values are numeric data attributed to their 1970 article.
